r/Drugs AMA series: 2C-E

Erowid link

Wikipedia link

We now come to the second of the "Magical Half-Dozen" in our poll of redditors, and the second of the drugs created by everyone's favourite chemist and scofflaw, Alexander Shulgin.

One of the most popular of the phenethylamines and research chemicals in general, 2C-E has been growing in visibility over the last few years thanks to news reports of (most likely) unsafe usage and the aftermath. If researched and used properly though, the subject of today's AMA can create a fractalicious experience of dose-dependent intensity.

First synthesis: Likely in the late 1970's by Alexander Shulgin.

Intended use: None as of yet. Current use is restricted to recreational and entheogenic purposes.

Current research into medical applications: None.

Legality: Unscheduled (legal) in some countries, a (possibly) illegal analogue of 2C-B in other countries, and completely illegal in the rest. Erowid link. Wiki link.

Not shown, but most likely in nearly the same area as was mentioned in the 2C-I AMA.
