Ep 31: Duan Xu, Meng Wan, and Xia Qingsheng are winning the sport with the power of teamwork and actual military experience. Xia Qingcheng tries to confess to Meng Wan and she tells him to try again later which is VALID.
A horse is hit by a ball and goes out of control, He Simu stops it from running over Duan Jingyuan (in the novel, it actually bows to her as Ghost King). Fang Xianye also tried to protect her too, which is cute.
Then he does even better and saves her from an annoying man (Wang Siyu's brother).
I just kept thinking, he looks nothing like OG Duan Xu. Do better at finding a replacement
Xia Qingsheng confesses to Meng Wan again and she seems happy about it, though she doesn't entirely say yes.
He Simu and Duan Xu's sense exchange ends. Duan Xu's courtesan spy Luo Xian is listening to important gossip. Later we see her on her way to the newly captured provinces.
She is now titled as a princess. They didn't really get into this in the drama, but she's from the family that knows how to refine that all important ore and therefore the person/knowledge that little Duan Xu was kidnapped about.
Hejia Fengyi makes a bracelet out of the ingredients He Simu finally collected. Luda is being harassed by the soldiers escorting him and he kills one of them. Yan Ke comes to save/recruit him. It works this time.
Duan Jingyuan is kidnapped off the street by Wang Qi (Duan Xu's "wife's" brother). His plan is to ruin her and force a marriage (gross). Fortunately He Simu shows up and offers to kill him. When Duan Jingyuan refuses, so He Simu makes him hallucinate instead.
Powerful women crushing terrible men
Duan Jingyuan doesn't think her brother should be in love with a ghost, but she's considering being accepting. He Simu takes Duan Xu on a magic carpet lantern ride.
She has to return to the void for a while. Duan Xu has to go recruit troops. Duan Xu wants He Simu to remember him for 200 years. This story really gets into the tragedy of mortal/immortal pairings.
Ep 32: Duan Xu rides off to recruit soldiers. He Simu does somewhere new in the void while wearing a really cool hood/cape ensemble.
The bracelet she made controls Bai Sanxing. Jiang An shows up to congratulate He Simu on getting her man. Jiang An is worried that Yan Ke is up to plots. He Simu gets angry at him for a minor offence and has him flogged and grounded. He says ominous things about her mortal.
He Simu stops ghosts from attacking Xue Chenying who is delivering a large map of all the remaining prefectures Duan Xu needs to retake. He Simu tries to pretend to be a serving girl but Duan Xu recognizes her. He Simu tells him to summon her if something goes wrong and gives him an amulet.
The fake 17, Han Lingqiu, has been captured. Duan Xu sends his generals to carry out largescale attacks and personally goes to rescue Han Lingqiu. He has his memories back and is confused.
It is a trap. The high priest that was Duan Xu's teacher in the death camp cult is there. They try to tell Han Lingqiu to kill Duan Xu, but he eventually takes Duan Xu's side. Duan Xu tells them he never believed in their cult and tries to fight his way out, but something is wrong with him.
He still looks good doing it though
He Simu's amulet protects Duan Xua and then she shows up in person to save him. She loses control and kills some mortals (this one really deserves it)
When Duan Xu wakes up, she asks if the sense exchange has been harming him and he denies it (liar).
Lips the colour of foundation? That means you are dying!
He asks if she killed mortals for him, she denies this (lair). Then she returns to the void and punishes herself for killing mortals. She also gives up the ghost lantern and book.
Afterwards, she leaves Jiang An in charge of the void instead of Yan Ke and then passes out.
The word punishment dragon things are so pretty!
This will be late tomorrow, probably very late as I need to be at work before the sun rises.
Novel bits: I don't think we're getting this, it's from when Duan Xu loses his sense of colour
At this moment, Duan Xu suddenly understood why she loved skulls so much. Because she couldn’t see colors. In her world, there was only black and white, light and dark, shadow and illumination. She needed an intricate outline, clear, perfect bone structures to divide light and shadow, to judge beauty.
Her skull was also beautiful, with distinct features as if meticulously carved. His Ghost King, his He Simu was beautiful however you looked at her.
