DISCLAIMER

A lot of you probably know about the weekly hero discussion, but that often ends up in a meta discussion (whether or not the hero needs buffs, etc) or a meme war than actual tips to play, itemize and build the hero.

This is what I'd like to do. Please discuss any notes I made and possible improvements while also giving tips of your own if you have them.

The roles, skill builds and item builds, as well as a lot of the notes are my opinion on matters and should not be seen as a must do or don't. Also remember that almost every single build or role is situationally possible.

A lot of the tips on heroes were also mentioned in tsunami's amazing hero tips series he did over the last couple of years.

Drow Ranger

Notes:

• If the enemy offlaner or mid is stupid enough to stay in lane solo without a stun or escape, maxing frost arrows will easily net you kills.
• She has one of the highest base attack ranges in the game, but with an orb (only clinkz can beat that). Use it.
• Versus: Stay as close to her as possible and man up
• Friends: WR, Furion, Weaver, VS (Ranged right click heroes with good push), Visage, Enigma (Summons with aura)
• Good versus: AM, Ember, Medusa, Weaver (Heroes that are easily kited with frost arrows, especially when silenced)
• Counters: PA (Can easily stay on top of Drow, especially with BKB, has high burst), Brood, PL (Drow has no AOE and can't kite them, especially early), LC (Duel), WW (Curse), Slark (purges of silence, has pounce, high burst), Spectre (doesn't care about silence, dispersion)

Role: Hard carry

Item build:

• Wraith band, Treads, RoA, (Blink/Shadow Blade), Dragon Lance -> Hurricane Pike, (HotD, Daedalus, BFly, Manta, Aghs, Maelstrom -> Mjollnir, BKB, Skadi, MKB)
• P(hase)R(ing of Aquila)M(ask of Madness) viable

Skill build: Max aura --> Frost arrows --> Silence
