Ep 33: Yan Ke has trapped He Simu in a formation that drains her power. He says he'll keep her there until she agrees to be with him.
Yan Ke tries to take over and imprison Jiang An, but she knows her rights and doesn't allow it. He Simu cannot fix her spirit power, as she was told. Yan Ke makes very creepy metaphors about kites. Outside, the void is in chaos and Jiang An is missing. She's gone to find Bai Sanxing in the secret hideout. She can't quite bring herself to kill him.
Han Lingqiu says he's leaving, then meets with Duan Xu in the forest. Duan Xu apologizes for saving his life without consent, then lets him leave to figure himself out.
Duan Xu Animated War Montage! He gets badly injured and everyone is wondering why he's pushing to win so quickly.
He called for He Simu but she didn't come. She's looking at his lantern in her void prison.
Yan Ke is back, not by popular demand (it's me, I'm the population). He goes to attack Duan Xu, who is very fortunately protected by Hejia Fengyi
Poor Hejia Fengyi and his allergy to evil spirits. Guy has to do his job with rampant hives! Turns out He Simu sent him to protect Duan Xu while she was away. Zi Ji tells Hejia Fengyi that he should be home resting, but he tells her that he's dying anyway and he wants to help He Simu.
Yan Ke brags about attacking Duan Xu, but He Simu doesn't buy it and mocks him for being defeated. She reminds him that his obsession is power. He says he's obsessed with her, but she doesn't buy that either.
She's very chill about everything considering
Drama rant: >!I am so annoyed by this plot line. He Simu in the novel never is defeated even a little bit. Her problem is that she doesn't WANT to rule, not that anyone can defeat her. There is just no way this would happen to her. Also, in the novel she kills mortals all the time, that is actually allowed. She's just not allowed to shift major world events. So all of this is nonsensical to me. Also, Yan Ke is obsessed WE KNOW. I don't need to see it 1000x.!<
