Isekai Campaign Episode 22 - The Goddess Of Fate Summoned Us To Another World To Be Her Champions, But She Won't Tell Us What To Do!

Our heroes:

• Sato - carries a katana and dreams of being a samurai
• Tobe - carries a bow and enjoys tracking and sneaking
• Okita - has two companion animals, a spark rabbit named Yokai-chan and a wind hawk named Riku-chan, and enjoys the creepy things
• Akuto - wannabe gangster who talks with his fists

Together they are The Mourning Cloaks, a silver level adventuring party.

Previously on The Goddess Of Fate Summoned Us To Another World To Be Her Champions, But She Won't Tell Us What To Do!:

Four Japanese High School students were hit by a truck and brought to a magical world called Risturan by Bruni, the Goddess of Fate to be her champions. After rescuing Waiyu, Primri's brother, from a basement, they fought some students who had been turned into demons by Itolan, a rogue professor.

Tonight's session:

The Mourning Cloaks raced to the rooftop and found Professor Itolan in a magic circle. Lightning struck him and where he had been standing was now a 12 foot tall demon. Though strong, he was not experienced in fighting and the Cloaks took him down easily. After he fell, the demonic form melted off him as miasma and he was left lying next to a monster core, his body covered in magic circle tattoos. Okita heard a faint cracking sound, but no one could determine where it came from.

The Cloaks carried him and the core down to the basement, where Sheriff Cassar arrived with Primri. Tobe tried to speak to one of the students who had been a demon and was received with hostility. The student had been taught by Itolan that power was all that mattered in this world. Tobe took Waiyu and Primri up to the roof, and they found the magic circle Itolan had used painted there. Waiyu confirmed that it was the counterpart to the circle in the basement. The circle in the basement would take life force, and the one on the roof would insert the life force into Itolan there.

The team went with Primri and Waiyu back to Filmelon Manor. After they got all cleaned up, Primri summoned them to the dining room, where Waiyu waited. He spoke about the last two weeks since they appeared. He mentioned it was strange that they looked like they came from Nori, but had first appeared in a village up in Klorfil Valley. He also said it was strange that they would have so many adventures in the last two weeks. He then said that he noticed that they wear the butterfly sigil, and directly asked them if they were champions of Bruni, goddess of fate, then asked if they were from Earth. They asked how he knew about Earth, and he said "because I am from Earth, too." He revealed that he spent his childhood in a hospital, and died a teenager. Then Tahat, goddess of knowledge asked him to be her champion with the command "seek unknown truths." He was reborn as the third child of Baron and Baroness Filmelon. He told the team that he hadn't found any other champions from Earth yet, but he had his suspicions.

Having made a new ally, the team went to bed to rest up before Primri's Birthday Ball the next day.

Lessons learned:

• If you have the session prepared, but you have to miss a week or two, review your notes before the next session so you can remember what you prepared.
• If you want to make an enemy a challenge for your players, don't just go by Character Points or Health Points, make sure the BBEG's Attack Combat Value is at an adequate level so that he can actually hit your players and avoid some of their attacks.
