DISCLAIMER

A lot of you probably know about the weekly hero discussion, but that often ends up in a meta discussion (whether or not the hero needs buffs, etc) or a meme war than actual tips to play, itemize and build the hero.

This is what I'd like to do. Please discuss any notes I made and possible improvements while also giving tips of your own if you have them.

The roles, skill builds and item builds, as well as a lot of the notes are my opinion on matters and should not be seen as a must do or don't. Also remember that almost every single build or role is situationally possible.

A lot of the tips on heroes were also mentioned in tsunami's amazing hero tips series he did over the last couple of years.

Luna

Notes:

• Don't use eclipse if you know you're going to die anyway. With aghs, you almost never want to use it on yourself, but it does keep going after death if you don't target yourself with it.
• Eclipse has a cast time, don't be afraid to cast it in the fog and then quickly run in.
• Versus: It's generally not a good idea to try and chase a Luna that has eclipse off cooldown
• Versus: If you let Luna reign freely in your base you'll see everything going down at the same time. Also, glaives will bounce very far, so careful with channeling a blink ulti (SK).
• She's a hot Irish gal
• If you're not using the HotD to stack ancients early, you might as well not get it at all. Share your creep with allies and ask them to help you out.
• Even if you're not using HotD to stack, grab yourself an Alpha Wolf and have it follow you around (select it, M+Click on yourself). That 30% damage aura is no joke, especially if you are not the only right-clicker on the team.
• Friends: SD (illusions), VS, Drow, Beastmaster (damage aura's)
• Counters: SD, DS (Luna has some of the best illusions in the game), Meepo (you can't control which meepo your ult hits), Rubick (Eclipse/Lucent beam with 0 cast time are both great spells to steal), Tinker (Laser blind), Bristleback, Spectre (Luna is squishy and might not kill them before she kills herself)
• Good versus: Undying (Zombies + Tombstone clearing), CM (low cooldown stun, manta to get out of root), Dazzle (graved target will often still die to glaives bouncing around)

Role: Safe lane hard carry

Skill build: lvl 1 lunar blessing, max lucent beam --> glaives <-> lunar blessing

Item build:

• Traditional: (Wand/Infused raindrops, RoA,) Treads, (Drum,) Dragon Lance <-> HotD, BKB, yasha -> Manta, BFly, (Satanic, Pike)
