Semi-daily hero tips. Day 71: Pugna

DISCLAIMER

A lot of you probably know about the weekly hero discussion, but that often ends up in a meta discussion (whether or not the hero needs buffs, etc) or a meme war than actual tips to play, itemize and build the hero.

This is what I'd like to do. Please discuss any notes I made and possible improvements while also giving tips of your own if you have them.

The roles, skill builds and item builds, as well as a lot of the notes are my opinion on matters and should not be seen as a must do or don't. Also remember that almost every single build or role is situationally possible.

A lot of the tips on heroes were also mentioned in tsunami's amazing hero tips series he did over the last couple of years.

Pugna

Notes:

• Hit both tower and creep wave in the rather large AOE of nether blast
• Animation cancel on nether blast, towers as well to bait out fortify
• You can decrepify the nether ward
• 1v1? Decrep the enemy. 1vmore? Decrep yourself. Teamfight? Decrep nether ward or another prime target
• You can TP while decripified
• Decrepify makes you immune from physical damage spells too (such as dazzle shadow wave and omnislash from jugger)
• Decrepify drops any aggro
• Don't underestimate nether ward
• Life drain everything when you get agh's, before that, life drain anything when you're low on health
• Versus: If there is a nether ward around, you'll see a debuff icon
• Good versus: OD, Timber, Necrophos, Tinker, Lesh, Jakiro, Invoker, Skywrath, Tide, Lina, Storm, Undying (nether ward), WW (decrep the ulted target), TB (instakill illusions with aghs ult + decrep + AOE blast)
• Counters: Huskar, AM, Pudge (magic resistance), Sniper (too far away, high damage), Night Stalker (silence)

Role: carry, dual lane (, mid, support)

Item build: Wind lace, Magic wand, Arcanes --> disassemble for aether lens or buy another booster (--> tranquils/BoT), (Mek, Drum, necro, force staff, Blink, Eul's, Glimmer, Veil,) Agh's, (Bloodstone, Linken's)

Skill build: Nether blast --> Nether ward <-> Decrepify
