Semi-daily hero tips. Day 75: Rubick

DISCLAIMER

A lot of you probably know about the weekly hero discussion, but that often ends up in a meta discussion (whether or not the hero needs buffs, etc) or a meme war than actual tips to play, itemize and build the hero.

This is what I'd like to do. Please discuss any notes I made and possible improvements while also giving tips of your own if you have them.

The roles, skill builds and item builds, as well as a lot of the notes are my opinion on matters and should not be seen as a must do or don't. Also remember that almost every single build or role is situationally possible.

A lot of the tips on heroes were also mentioned in tsunami's amazing hero tips series he did over the last couple of years.

Rubick

Notes:

• Similar to other instant cast stuns or hexes, frantically click the enemy initiator and cancel, like so you will instantly pick him up when he blinks in
• Cast the land asap so your allies know where it's going to be
• When running away from multiple, cast land towards you so the others will be stunned
• Fade bolt is a great anti-push spell because it can aggro creeps to you instead of your tower from a long range
• As for every targetted ult, Spell steal goes through BKB (except for finger and laguna blade as of 6.71)
• Unless you have agh's, try to wait to steal spells in teamfights until the ones you really want come out
• Good versus: Jakiro, Leshrac, EarthShaker, Zeus, Lina, Pudge (insta cast their spells), Enigma, Magnus, CM, etc. (ulti steal, especially the channeled ones), Clockwerk (lift out of cogs), Puck, Timber (insta cast gank, preferably with blink), Omni (every spell he has is great for you), WK (only has one, very good spell)
• Versus: Be careful not to get caught by telekinesis in lane
• Versus: Remember to cast smaller spells right after your big ones
• Versus: Check what spell rubick stole
• If tide is on the enemy team, all you have to do as rubick is to stay way back until he uses ravage so you can steal it. You can also steal it while still expanding towards you

Role: support

Item build: Wind Lace, Magic stick (--> Wand), Urn, Arcanes, Blink/Force staff, (sheep stick, drum, mek, Agh's, ghost scepter, glimmer, BKB, eul's, aether lens)

Skill build: lvl 1 lift, max fade bolt --> lift --> null field
