Semi-daily hero tips. Day 88: Sven

DISCLAIMER

A lot of you probably know about the weekly hero discussion, but that often ends up in a meta discussion (whether or not the hero needs buffs, etc) or a meme war than actual tips to play, itemize and build the hero.

This is what I'd like to do. Please discuss any notes I made and possible improvements while also giving tips of your own if you have them.

The roles, skill builds and item builds, as well as a lot of the notes are my opinion on matters and should not be seen as a must do or don't. Also remember that almost every single build or role is situationally possible.

A lot of the tips on heroes were also mentioned in tsunami's amazing hero tips series he did over the last couple of years.

Sven

Notes:

Storm hammer is a very good stun, but only use it in the laning phase when you're sure you'll get the kill or you have KOTL with you or a CM on the field
Warcry is a great spell to push towers as it buffs your creeps
You take an early level of warcry for the 12% bonus MS
STR items are great on Sven because they give bonus damage thanks to god's strength
Storm hammer can be disjointed
Versus: If Sven is the carry and he bought a MoM and crystalys, focus him down asap
Counters: Batrider, SK (great laning vs Sven), WW (freeze the ally that is initiated on, curse enemies close to sven), Furion (get quelling blade to get out of sprout), Razor (anti-carry)
Good versus: Meepo, CK, Lycan, PL, Chen, Beastmaster, AM (AOE stormhammer + cleave)

Role: Hard carry (,roaming support)

Item build:

Treads, (MoM, Armlet, Echo Sabre,) Blink, (SnY,) BKB, Crystalys --> Daedalus <-> AC (, BoT, Heart, Satanic, MKB)
P(hase)R(ing of Aquila)M(ask of Madness) viable (You can switch maxing cleave with warcry)

Skill build: lvl 1 Storm hammer, lvl 2 warcry, max Cleave --> warcry --> storm hammer
